The new Yo Scenario step template library

A better way to use step templates is here

The October update to Yo Scenario brings a new step template features, an audio recording widget and integration with Google sign in. These updates add yet more functionality to Yo Scenario and make it even easier to create interactive and engaging scenario based learning activities.

Step Templates

We've revamped the import / export step feature with a new step template library. This enables you to quickly prototype your scenario using free step templates from the library and also lets you create your own reusable step template library. The template library has been integrated into the add step flow and the add choice flow so whenever you add a new step you'll be able to pick from the template library. You can of course still start with a blank step if you prefer. Step templates are very useful as they not only include all the content components in the step but the actions as well.

This update enables you to build scenarios faster, more efficiently and gives you more time to be creative with the narratives in your scenario based learning activities. The template library and the blocks library will see new templates added over the coming months. If there are any types of block or step you'd like to see in the libraries please let us know.

Record audio directly in the editor

You can now record audio directly in the content editor, another tool that will speed up the authoring process and make prototyping much quicker. To record audio simply add an audio component to your step. You will be asked if you want to record audio or upload / select from the media library. Make sure your browser has given permission to Yo Scenario to use the microphone then press the record audio button. You can now record your audio and press the stop recording button when done.

Google Sign in

In the age of multiple apps and accounts we know how having a single sign on option is helpful so we have integrated Google Sign in with Yo Scenario to allow you to sign up or sign in with your Google account. This simplifies account management and lets you get on with creating your content. If you don't use Google and would like to have a different social login option please let us know.

Other Updates

We have made a number of other improvements to Yo Scenario as follows:

  • You can now duplicate steps from the step overview when in natural view. Previously if you wanted to duplicate a step you'd need to export / import it or add a choice and select a duplicate of existing step. This has now been simplified with a single "Duplicate step" option.
  • You can now copy all styles of a component to another. Previously you could copy and paste individual styles (e.g. the padding, radius, colours, etc..) from one component to another. There is a now a copy all styles function.
